General Quesitons

Where is Hybridchill based? Do you accept international customers?

Hybridchill is a UK-based service, but is happy to provide hosting to those outside the UK. See Do you accept international payments? for more details.

What type of hosting does Hybridchill offer?

Hybridchill primarily focuses on Railo hosting, but also supports PHP. All Hybridchill hosting runs on Linux. Hybridchill does not offer Windows-based hosting, nor Frontpage extensions.

What version of Railo is running on the server?

The server runs latest stable released Railo, version 3.1.2, is running against Apache Tomcat 5.5 and Apache HTTP Server 2.2.6.

What are the hosting facilities like?

Hybridchill currently has a single server, which is located in a managed data centre in Stratford, London.

The data centre uses the AS31708 network, a fully redundant BGP4 meshed network, connected to multiple Tier 1 / Tier 2 network providers (AS3257,AS3356,AS6453,AS8468,AS39326,LINX,LONAP).

Do you host domain names? How do I transfer my domain name to you?

Hybridchill does not provide domain name hosting/management, you will need to use a third-party service for this.

To use Hybridchill hosting, it is necessary to point your DNS "nameserver" records at to the Hybridchill nameservers. Further details on setting up nameservers will be provided at registration.

Payment Questions

What payment methods are accepted?

To avoid security issues and transaction costs, Hybridchill does not process credit or debit cards directly. These can still be used for payment via Paypal.

Alternatively, payments can be made via a Standing Order / Bank Transfer.

Do you accept international payments?

Yes, if paying via Paypal, payments can be made from any country once the final amount paid in GBP is correct.

Please note, customers are responsible for any transaction fees which may apply.

Are prices inclusive of VAT?

Hybridchill is not VAT-registered, and does not charge VAT or Sales Tax.

Please note that Hybridchill is a service aimed at individuals (and non-profit groups), rather than companies.

Hosting Package Questions

Are there any restrictions for to the different hosting packages?

All packages are restricted in that they must not disrupt the service for other users, and must not be used for illegal activities.

Any accounts running processor-, memory-, or database-intensive tasks may be required to upgrade to a higher level package, and/or restrict activities to off-peak hours.

The 'Simple' package is restricted to simple websites, without a database, and may only be used for non-intensive websites/tasks.

All three 'Standard' packages are not permitted to run intensive websites:
The 'Developer Standard' package may use a database, but no forums, chat rooms, or similar.
The 'Community Standard' package comes setup with Beehive forum, but may not use other discussion software.
The 'Photography Standard' package may not use a database, nor forums, chat rooms, and similar.

Any accounts which violate these restrictions will be warned, and given the chance to upgrade. Repeated warnings may result in termination of the account.

Can I upgrade to a different package?

Yes, you can upgrade at any point to a better package. The cost will be calculated pro-rata depending on how much of the current hosting period you have used.
